The review of the literature for this study focuses on the definition of creativity and how it is valued in education. The review focuses on a number of issues that surrounds the involvement of creativity in teaching and the nation’s economy. Creativity is an important part of education. Creative thinking is one of the main skills that underpin the National Curriculum in England. These skills, being vital to the students success in learning, should be promoted in all subjects across the curriculum. There is always an opportunity to use creativity in all human activity and mostly in classroom lessons. The Definition of Creativity Many researchers have tried to define creativity and its purpose in the educational system. Dimock (1999) proclaims that originality is the definition of creativity. Simpson (1922), on the other hand, asserts that creativity is worth more than knowledge. It is education and knowledge that encourages creative energy (Simpson 1922). Aud Berggraf et al.
